A Record Year Ahead for Beautiful Scotland
We are delighted to be able to report that, with the closing date for entries now past, we have received a massive increase in the number of groups applying to take part in the 2009 campaign. Last year 49 communities took part; this year there will be 72 from across the country.
At a time when doom and gloom seems to be all around, it is very encouraging to know that the campaign is receiving so much support. Clearly the word is spreading about the benefits of taking part in Beautiful Scotland and we are all looking forward to a very exciting year.
This increase is a major milestone in the development of Beautiful Scotland and underlines the fact that all the hard work that everyone involved puts into improving their communities is appreciated and seems to be contagious!

A total of 45 community groups were presented with Neighbourhood Award certificates at the Annual Beautiful Scotland seminar in The Albert Hall, Stirling on 10th November 2008.
